Talking about one's family

To introduce your family members use the following structure:
|
|
1. Это
мой брат. |
This is my brother. |
2. Это
моя сестра. |
This is my sister. |
3. Это
мои родители. |
These are my parents. |
|
|
Notes
- The pronoun мой (my) is used for a male person, моя
(my) for a female, мои (my) for two and more people.
|

1. Read the following text aloud. Translate it.

Это мои родственники: мой
брат Егор, его (his) жена Алла, мой
племянник Олег и
моя племянница Ира.
Егор - инженер, а Алла - певица.
Олег школьник и Ира школьница.
Сейчас они в России, в Москве.

2. Find a picture of your family. Explain in Russian who is
on the picture. Tell these people names, what do they do, what is
their profession/occupation, where are they now (what country, city). Use your English-Russian dictionary for
more vocabulary on professions if necessary.
3. Write down your story on paper or type it on your
computer, then read it aloud at least three times.
4. Keep your story for future reference.
