Notes
-
Masculine inanimate and
neuter Possessive and Demonstrative Pronouns do not change their
forms for the Accusative case, i.e. their Accusative case forms are the same as
Nominative case forms.
-
Feminine Possessive and Demonstrative Pronouns change their forms for the
Accusative case. The last letter -а is replaced by -у, -я
is replaced by -ю for the Accusative case.
-
The possessive pronouns его, её, их (his, her, their) never change their
form:
1. Я видела его новую машину.
1. I saw his new car.
2. Я знаю её бабушку.
2. I know her grandmother.
-
Feminine nouns with the ь at the end (тетрадь, дочь, дверь)
do not change their endings for the Accusative case, but their modifiers
do take the Accusative case endings. Compare:
1. Я знаю вашу старшую дочь.
1. I know your oldest daughter.
2. Он купил новую тетрадь.
2. He bought a new notebook.
